What is MS (Multiple Sclerosis)? 

It is a chronic nervous system disease that affects the central nervous system and manifests itself in attacks.
The immune system protects the body from the outside and does so by recognizing its own cells. In the event of a system disorder of unknown cause, the immune system attacks its own cells, especially those in the brain and spinal cord, which provide nerve conduction.
The body's satellite and antenna is the brain. The nerve channels coming from the brain provide range of motion and coordination thanks to electrical signals. The sheaths around nerve cells that protect them and help them perform their functions are called myelin. When the immune system attacks the myelin sheaths, damaged areas called 'plaques' form. This can lead to impairments in actions such as walking, speaking and seeing, which are called MS attacks.

Causes of Multiple Sclerosis?

In addition to environmental factors (climate, region of residence, etc.) and previous viral infections, genetic predisposition also plays an important role in the development of Multiple Sclerosis. MS can also occur as a result of a combination of genetic and environmental causes.

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is particularly common in women between the ages of 20 and 40, but the reason for this difference is unknown.

Some of the most likely causes of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are the brain, the body's satellite and antenna. If there is an imbalance in the blood flow to the brain, some parts of the brain may lose their active functioning. The blood contains oxygen and substances that need to be delivered to the body according to the regions of distribution. Just as a person cannot live without water, and water is a necessity of life for humans, blood is the same for organs. When blood flow is irregular, the organs of the body can reduce their active functioning. Nerves affect the active functioning of organs as much as blood flow. If the nerves that support the brain's ability to provide active transmission are pinched between the muscles and therefore cannot provide proper transmission, this may be the cause of MS. 

What are the Symptoms of MS? 

* Fatigue.
* Numbness, tingling, weakness in different parts of the body, especially in the trunk, face, arms or legs.
* Impaired balance or gait.
* Speech disorders such as lisping.
* Bladder and bowel problems.
* Dizziness.
* Blurred vision.
* Difficulty with thinking, memory or concentration.
* Depression.

What should be the treatment method for MS (Multiple Sclerosis)? 

Therefore, since MS can be caused by both anatomical and physical disorders, treatment methods such as drugs, injections, etc. may not be sufficient for MS. 
It is not correct to apply the same treatment method to every MS patient. A personalized treatment trajectory should be determined for MS patients, primarily with the support of functional medicine, according to the age and gender of the person, the disease, the type, degree and stage of the disease, and the muscle and bone tone. MS patients should be evaluated from a holistic perspective and should not stick to a single point. Whatever may cause MS should be examined, evaluated and intervened in its entirety. 
In particular, the patient's posture should be correct. If there is neck flattening, scoliosis, kyphosis (humpback), lumbar slippage, lumbar flattening, coccyx trapezoid, posture analysis should be performed. 
Since the nerve channel coming from the brain carries the conduction, MS patients may experience movement deficit and coordination disorder due to conduction disorder, since the nerve channel passing through the spine in posture disorders will reduce the effect of the conduction due to spinal deformities. The nerves and veins that are pinched between the muscles in the trigger points that may affect MS disease should also be intervened as they may cause irregular blood flow and conduction.
